Massive Attack Call Out Pete Tong For Playing Out A Re imagined Version of Their Track Without Permission
Legendary trip-hop duo Massive Attack have just called out an even bigger legend in Pete Tong after the BBC Radio 1 host played out a re-imagined version of the duo’s hit single “Unfinished Sympathy” withou the group’s permission. Pete Tong is currently performing his Ibiza Classics album alongside collaborator Jules Buckley and live performers the Heritage Orchestra who perform dance music classics via live orchestra.
Massive Attack member 3D explained in a Facebook post that when they perform “Unfinished Sympathy,” the song is accompanied by photos of refugee camps on the screens intended to raise awareness and funding for the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees). He also added that if Pete Tong would want to “carry on coining it” that he should consider donating some of the profits on the show to the UNHCR.
